it is so good to hear from you both. preston is a doll and looks just like john (a resemblance that i'm sure will diminish as he gets older and grows hair.) gracie is adorable as always; she looks like the snow trip was hit a with her.
i'm still in the picu at sutter, but working there isn't the same w/o great families like you guys (most of them are just so crabby and demanding and NONE of them call my cell phone and pretend to be japanese cooks.) i teach for csus and samuell merritt just to break up the fun. i'm still living in sin w/my boyfriend of 2yrs, blake; he's a great guy and puts up w/all my crud (which should give you good insight into his character :) my daughter still lives with us, is in her 2nd yr at college, is still w/the same "not good eno for her" boyfriend, and works at nordstrom (yea, discount.) my son lives with his dad, will graduate from h.s. this june and, with his smelly friends, hopes to become the next big death-metal band (as if there is such a thing.)
hope you all have a romantic, partially adult, valentine's day.
Thank you so much for the note and and keeping me updated on your fantastic family. Gracie is a miracules child. She looks happy and full of love. It's hard to believe she will be 5. Your right, how the time flies. Preston is definitely all boy, he does looke a lot like John except, he may have a little more hair. Ha. Ha. I will be back often, you did a great job on this site or should I say Blog? I wish you and yours lots of love and happiness. Karen Kilbert
Hey there... wow you've been SO much my dear! looks beautiful now it's all up and running and love the addition of the photo journeys on the right. Keep writing, keep taking photos. Just received your card, with thanks. Am amazed at Preston standing up like that and cruising around. My you'll have your hands full with him running in no time. He's so wonderful for Gracie, you can see that in the pictures and they're so very affectionate and loving together. Gorgeous to see. Much love Cx
I'm the mother of a beautiful daughter, Gracelyn, born in April '03 and her brother, Preston, who was born in May '07, and wife to John, a fantastic daddy and husband.
They are the lights of my life - the reminder that every moment of the day is a gift... each smile, each hug.
Gracie is an incredibly affectionate, determined and curious child who also happens to have CHARGE Syndrome - a rare & extremely complex genetic condition involving multiple medical & physical difficulties. (She also has Diplegic Cerebral Palsy.) Gracie is visually impaired, deaf, is developmentally delayed, has endured over 20 surgeries, extended hospitalizations and countless procedures. She is, by far, the bravest and most resilient person I know. She shines with the brightest light - - full of love and life.
Preston is the source of all kinds of entertainment and inspiration for Gracie - - he is her most favorite person in the world. Yet, at times, like brothers should, he really drives her mad! Preston is ALL boy - a busy, smart, athletic daredevil who, at the same time, is so sweet and friendly. He's quite the comedian and once he knows what makes you laugh, he can't stop doing it!
