Wishing you a happy & healthy 2009!
The kids are asleep; John is at work. It's really just like any other night... except that on this night, we end one calendar and start another.
I kissed the kids goodnight, wished them "Happy New Year" and when John left earlier, I did the same with him. I did not, however, make any resolutions because it's a new year. Somehow, the last handful of years have changed my perception of this night.
Instead of looking to the new year for that opportunity to "seize the day" and resolve to improve the current state of our lives, I choose to look at each day in this manner. Each day is a gift... an opportunity to witness and create miracles. Not that I don't celebrate the start of a new year - - I am, by no means, a party pooper! I just don't need New Year's Eve or New Year's Day to inspire change. Each day, and the moments within it, are an opportunity to make a resolution, start fresh, make changes. So... Happy New Day to each of you! :-)

Dear, dear Kristi: This is a brilliant post in so many ways. I laughed, I cried, I was moved to my core. Watching your captured moments makes me look so, so forward to meeting the Flock in person! Gracie and Preston are so full of light and beauty and connection. (Viv can't wait to play farm with Miss Gracie!)
And I love what you've written about each new day - I'm right there with you, friend - and I'm so happy we get to witness and celebrate each other's miracles through our blogs and friendship.
Happy New Year, dear friends.
(Incidentally, I started my 2008 "year in pictures" on One True Media a week ago, and have yet to finish it...I'll work on that today!)
Kristi - Happy New Year to the Swanns too! I love the way you put that and it is so true! So... happy new day every day to you of this new year!
Oh my gosh the video of Preston and Gracie on the slide and preston giveing love was just adorable. What is amazing is he is younger and its like he knows she is special and loves her so much. It made me cry. What a sweet and loving family.
Can I also say that all you California CHARGE families make me so jealous that you have each other we do not have anyone here like that to do to or visit. Its lonely sometimes.
God bless you all and here's to a happy and healthy new year.
Hugs,
Crystal and Eva
