I love how inspired Gracie is by Preston.
I love how they interact.
I love how considerate and aware Preston is of Gracie.
I love how much she adores him, often looking up at him and chuckling at whatever shenanigans he's into.
I love how much he adores her, always wanting her included in everything, so much so that he smuggles food to his sister who cannot chew or swallow!
I love that he wants to take care of her (even when he's not supposed to touch her equipment!).
I love that she's completely intrigued by his diaper being changed - - mesmerized with a silly grin that clearly says, "What is that thing?!"
I love that no matter how 'stinkery' and "two" he can be, that's not who he is!
I love that he now says, "Mama, buh" (and signs, "bug") or "Mama, pieduh" (for spider) to let me know there is a critter in our midst. I love that he tells me when Daddy's home, "Mama, Dadda, owhm" (signing our names and "home").
I love that no matter how busy (Mr. Perpetual Motion Superhuman) he is, he almost always slows down to do stuff at Gracie's pace when she wants to play.
And I love that no matter how many times it seems like she's "stuck," she will surprise us all and recover what we'd thought she'd lost and then, as a bonus, add in a new trick or two ~ like sitting independently and rolling the ball back and forth for over twenty minutes!
I love that she is opinionated (and obsessive) enough to expect a lick of some sort of dessert every night! THAT'S my girl!
For these reasons... and countless more... I love my kids.

I hav to admit that made me cry!! How sweet is he to take care of his big sister like that. Be still my heart they are adorable. I see Eva in Gracie's little face.

That was such an awesome video you put together... I had tears in my eyes! So sweet for him to take care of Gracie!! He talks so well too and that beautiful blonde hair just like my two little little guys.

P.S. I wish my 2 1/2 yr olds played as well with Christopher like Preston does with Gracie but Christopher is not as laid back as Gracie and he loves to BITE so the twins are very apprehensive in playing with Christopher. But the thing they do like to do is mimick everything Christopher does so sometimes it looks like I have three hearing impaired children with Charge walking around my house - wouldng change it for the world though!
Oh, my goodness. I am ALL teary now. Vince, Viv and I just watched your amazing video. We LOVE it. I am so moved by the interaction between your kids. So, so moved. And I am touched by the reflections and observations of your love for Gracie and Preston. You're an amazing mama.
Your backyard reminds me of my Grandma Vivian's with the avocado tree and the lizards...what happy memories you're making, and sharing with us!

Oh, Kristi, that video brought tears to my eyes. What a beautiful bond Preston and Gracie share! Preston is amazing with her--what compassion for a 2-year-old. They will share an amazing closeness forever.
I have to admit, I sometimes wish that Katie had a sibling. I don't know how she would react--she doesn't interact much with other kids--but maybe if it would have had a sibling she grew up with, that would be different. But, unfortunately, that wasn't in our cards, so I try not to dwell on it too much. I'll just enjoy watching other people's kids when I can! :-)
