Preston was so happy and hamming it up, while Gracie was absolutely mesmerized.

Nana and Papa were making silly faces (at Preston's request - - or maybe it was Papa's...) and the kids were copying them!
Even though we've lived over 500 miles from Nana and Papa for nearly two years, we never Skyped with them, yet we talked on the phone almost daily. Now that they live in Georgia, the time difference makes it a little harder to talk as often, especially with everyone's crazy schedules. We are definitely feeling the distance from them now - - just knowing they're across the country makes us miss them that much more. In an effort to bridge the gap, I finally downloaded Skype and the kids had their first (very funny) video call with them on Saturday. Needless to say, we will be doing this all the time! It was great for Gracie, too, since she obviously doesn't get to talk on the phone! She signed "I love you" right back at them and spent most of the conversation staring at the screen in awe. During Monday's Skype with them, she was cracking up at Nana and tried to lay directly on the computer.
Why I didn't do this sooner is beyond me... but we've got it now and intend to use it often!

"S" is for SENSATIONAL mama. Please, please do not tell me you created and posted this blog after we hung up @ 1am. Enjoyed catching up and after we signed off I jotted down things to supplement the conversation about how we got comfortable with our choice of school...sorry for digressing.
What a fantastic communication medium; the next best thing to being there. Gracie and Preston are both so expressive I feel I can read their minds.
How funny! My in-laws just asked me to download Skype so they could see and talk to the kids. :) I'm glad to hear your kids like it! I will be looking into it soon.
We LOVE Skype. With Jim gone now, he gets to "tuck" the kids into bed everynight virtually! Can't feel the kisses, but the kids still like his stories best! :)
AMAZING!! One day we should skype with Gracie and Eva, see what they think of eachother...LOL!
This is so cool! I've never skyped either, but I love seeing the joy on G+P's faces as they chat with Nana and Papa! Absolutely adorable! I bet that joy was mirrored on Nana and Papa's faces, too.
