These pictures illustrate Gracie's spirit far better than spoken or signed words. That's all I need to say today other than my heart is happy seeing your girl having fun.
I'm the mother of a beautiful daughter, Gracelyn, born in April '03 and her brother, Preston, who was born in May '07, and wife to John, a fantastic daddy and husband.
They are the lights of my life - the reminder that every moment of the day is a gift... each smile, each hug.
Gracie is an incredibly affectionate, determined and curious child who also happens to have CHARGE Syndrome - a rare & extremely complex genetic condition involving multiple medical & physical difficulties. (She also has Diplegic Cerebral Palsy.) Gracie is visually impaired, deaf, is developmentally delayed, has endured over 20 surgeries, extended hospitalizations and countless procedures. She is, by far, the bravest and most resilient person I know. She shines with the brightest light - - full of love and life.
Preston is the source of all kinds of entertainment and inspiration for Gracie - - he is her most favorite person in the world. Yet, at times, like brothers should, he really drives her mad! Preston is ALL boy - a busy, smart, athletic daredevil who, at the same time, is so sweet and friendly. He's quite the comedian and once he knows what makes you laugh, he can't stop doing it!
