This is the first time that the kids have taken a "real" bath together. Usually, Gracie uses a bath chair to keep her safe. She can sit up, but chooses to scoot down flat (not safe... duh) and because of her trach, a recline is necessary when rinsing her hair. Sometimes (not often due to the chaos that ensues!), Preston will sit in the tiny space not occupied by the chair and "hang out" while his sister gets a bath.
The other night John was home and took on bath time while I did dishes. Next thing I knew, I was being summonsed to the bathroom. "Mama, come here... bring your camera!" With the exception of the "too naked for the blog pics," this is what I took. Once I got Preston out, John got creative with the letters while Miss Gracie took an inch-deep "soak!" And speaking of letters and bath toys... No... they don't typically bathe with every toy and letter we own!

I was hoping we'd get to see bath photos! I love the one on the bottom left - the way Preston is looking at Gracie and handing her the letter is lovely.
I remember those Sit and Spins! So fun - and do I spy painted toenails on Miss Gracie?!
Happy Friday, Friends - mine is off to a great start with these photos!
So adorable! Have a great weekend. Hugs and Kisses
The pictures are so great! I just love all the bath time pics and I definitely agree with Hannah on the pic on the bottom left - just precious! My favorite is how John posed all the letters on Gracie - definitely to cute :O) Christopher loves loves loves to lay down in the water (which always results in ear infections). The ones on the sit in spin are so sweet and I love the one in the bottom right where it looks like Preston is giving Gracie a kiss. I always look forward to Foto Friday! Hope you have a great weekend.

These photos are SOOO cute! Preston and Gracie look like they are "bestest buddies"--you can just feel the love between them in these pics.
hi guys
I am not quite sure how I stumbled upon your blog- but I guess god arranged it. it took me a while to write to you because I was so emotional & couldn't stop crying after my first visit here. I came back a few hours later & read the entire blog! I have no words for you guys, you are both truly amazing! for the past few years I have been going to help out a family who had this adorable little boy- who also happens to have charge syndrome. I became really attached to "M"! when he was born his family espec. his mom took the news very hard. his mom became a thumb sucker & very depressed. he lives in NY & was lucky to get a team of the most amazing & caring therapists. the talk of town was " when will little "M" be put in a home. until the age of 3 little "M" made very little progress- he was tube fed, had a CI, could not sit, crawl, turn....he cried an awful lot, needed to be suctioned countless times a day... yet he was blessed with the most gorgeous smiles which captured everyones heart! his mom didn't ever want to play with him, cuddle or kiss him out of fear that she will become attached to him. I used to come to the house - take him out of his crib & "play" with him! besides for the times that the therapist or I was there he was always in his crib. when he turned 2 I bought him a signing time video which I thought he might enjoy watching while in bed. later on I begged the mom to let me take him out to the park or just for some air- at first she refused but then she bought a hood for the carriage that covered him entirely- & that was his first time out in the streets. one day I saw him signing to himself in his crib- I excitedly ran to tell his mom - who of course said I was dreaming. well to make a long story short...he began picking up signs 1 after the other until he already mastered signing time. this encouraged the mom & that was a big turning point in "M" life. mom started doing her research- highered some great signing teachers- had him implanted..and most of all started to LOVE him. "M" started
cont.
blossom. today he is 6 years old- walking in a walker, spelling words, & signs everything. he attends a school for the deaf & blind & is doing amazing. it is very clear that he started doing so amazingly from the time his family started accepting him ! your beatiful daughter has been so lucky to be born to such a loving parents! you guys are truly amazing! its heartbreaking to see what little "m" was missing out on - all those thing your little "grace" does get.
I am definetly going to give "M" mom your blog to read. (if its ok).
may god give you the strength to continue doing all that you do. lots of love to your little lucky princess.
all my love
Patty
