Miss Moriah

For months now, I have had a picture of our sweet little friend in CHARGE, Moriah, posted in the sidebar. It is my hope that each person who reads this blog, takes a moment to be led by whatever way they feel... by prayer, hope, positive thoughts, meditation... and think of precious Moriah and her parents as she fights so courageously for her life.

Yesterday, Moriah's mommy, Victoria, posted this on their blog. Please join me in sending your faithful, hopeful and positive thoughts toward this amazing, loving family.

"Moriah had to be emergently re-intubated this morning. She just stopped breathing all of a sudden, and wasn't responsive. Everyone swarmed in here within a minute and got her stabilized. Her carbon dioxide levels were in the 130's (normal for her are 60's), which is the reason why she was so unresponsive.

The CT scan that she had yesterday didn't show anything more about the nodules in her lungs. They thought that if they were bigger, it could be fungus. However, they're the same size.
Moriah is back on linezolid in case she has any resistance to the vancomycin from being on it for so long. There is nothing more they can do as far as antibiotics go...
She is still having fevers, but is doing okay right now. I was just reminded of how quickly things can change."

"Please join me in purposeful prayer this weekend in praying for my little girl. In whichever way you feel led, let us lift Moriah up to the Lord together, and pray for the source of this infection to be found, and for it to be resolved. For guidance and wisdom for the Nurses and Doctors...if any other tests need to be done or repeated...that they would know what to do to help Moriah get better."

Thank you for this update on Moriah. We will be praying for her. I did want to talk to you more about the GI/stool issues. My email is amy.russo@gmail.com. Would you mind talking to me on the phone? If not, email me your phone number and I'll call you. Let me know when is a good time to call. Ben finished three days worth of enemas and is now starting smears again... after three days of no bms. I'm curious to hear more about Gracie and what you did to help me.
