In the wee hours of the morning...

My brother and his wife welcomed their baby boy,
Jackson Riley
at 1:15am. Both my sister-in-law and baby Jack are healthy and well. Jack weighed in at 7lbs, 3oz and is 20 3/4 inches.
We are so very happy for them and cannot wait to meet our new nephew/cousin!!! Pictures to follow!!

----------------------------------------------------------------

Also in the wee hours, Miss Gracie has had her fourth night in a row without tolerating feeding or Pedialyte... we have spent today trying to get enough fluid in her to avoid the hospital, as she is verging on dehydration due to a lack of sufficient fluid intake over the last several days.
Up until today, her days have been fabulous (with the exception of feedings) and her nights have been awful. She cannot sleep unless her pump is off and wakes-up with it running at an incredibly slow drip of 10 ml/hour (which is not sufficient to hydrate her and illustrates just how sensitive her little tummy is).

Good news... More to follow on her first day at the therapy clinic on Monday (she was a total ROCKSTAR), our impromptu (and fabulously fun) outing Saturday and her (very successful) IEP on Friday...

Auntie K! Congratulations - so happy to hear about your new family member! Welcome, Jackson Riley (LOVE the name!).

I sure hope Sweet Gracie's tummy is beginning to tolerate her feeds better as I type this. I am absolutely hopeful that there is no hospital stay on the horizon...because your sweet girl is blossoming in such amazing ways (can't wait to read all about it!) and frankly, a hospital visit would totally cramp Miss Gracie's rockstar style and impromptu family adventures...

With much love to the dear Flock-

Congratulations on the nephew/cousin that has joined the family!! His name is really neat! I am so sorry to hear that Gracie's tummy is having a hard time tolerating her feeds and I am sending prayers your way (hugs and kisses too for Gracie) that her tummy will tolerate enough to keep her hydrated and out of the hospital. I cannot wait to hear about her outings and her IEP!

Love,

Kim

We think Eva is having siezures because her eyes will roll up into her head and all we see are the whites of her eyes and she will stay like that for 30 sec to a minute. The doctor really hopes we can catch one this time. I have noticed it twice since she has been hooked up so I hope I get an answer after this.
Thanks for the posts.

What good news about the baby and what bad news about Gracie. I'm stumped on why she wouldn't be able to tolerate 10mls/hr of Pedialite. That's awful!! We know too well how frusterating the whole food tolerating can be. I'm sure you've already thought of this, but thought I would share some of what we do when Ben is having trouble with feeds.
We turn off the pump for 10 minutes every hour. Having a break seems to help his belly. We also put books under the top legs of his bed so his head is raised above his belly. And last but not least, we give him an enema to clean him out in case it is backed up stool causing the problem. Good luck and I hope you can avoid a hospital stay.

Love your new nephew's name! Sorry to hear about Gracie's night feeds. I hope she is able to avoid the hospital. I sure hope someone is able to find the underlying cause of her feeding issues soon so she can have some relief. How frustrating for her and you!

Can't wait to hear more about the therapy session and IEP!
