I am going to put a slight twist on it, inspired by a little book penned and sketched by Charles M. Schulz, Happiness Is A Sad Song. This is a book that my brother, Brian, had as a kid. He's five and a half years older, so when he outgrew it, it made it's way to my collection, and like many of my childhood books, I still have it (thanks to our mom!). Since he now has a son, I will pass it along to him along with some others that are on our shelves.
Anyway, just like "Joy in January," the idea of the book is simple - - find and celebrate the little things that make us happy. Granted, the title (and statement), Happiness Is A Sad Song, was lost on me until I was much older, but the rest of the book was easy to appreciate, even at an early age.
Each day (I hope...), I will share what defined our happiness for that day and perhaps something from the book as well.

This morning, for breakfast, we had fluffy Belgian waffles made on our fabulous new waffle iron. For dinner, I made a breakfast casserole. Yummmmmmy!

Hmmm... we had many other sources of happiness today... what does it say that I picked all "food" sources?
Perhaps I should have used this from Schulz' book instead, "Happiness is a side dish of French-fries!!"

I love your idea for January and what you wrote as well. It is ok that you stole I mean copied or rather borrowed from Hannah. I am sure she will not mind one bit :O) Such sweet pics (as always!). Thanks for the very kind words left on Christopher's blog for my sweet niece. I am starting to believe that in my family as well that January is kind of a ho hum month and I may need to find ways to find Joy in January as well!

I am SO SO SO excited about this, Kristi...Yay for happy moments and all of the ways the pop into a day. And I can totally relate to to the food related happiness - waffles, breakfast for dinner and ice cream make me happy, too! Sigh...January isn't looking so bad!
PS Kim, you should totally join in on the fun! Please do! :-)
LOVE LOVE LOVE IT!! I love Gracie with her tongue out scrapping the bottom of the yogurt cup. She is so determined. Preston is adorable as always and I everytime I see him I see a heart of gold.
